What a hybrid system can do.
By combining diesel, methanol or hydrogen with electric motors, a hybrid system reaches higher energy efficiency, lower fuel consumption and a significant reduction in harmful emissions. The generators run at a steady, optimal load, while energy peaks are handled by battery storage, which extends engine lifetime and reduces operating costs.
It suits vessels that need high manoeuvrability or operate under dynamic positioning, and it enables a green mode for emission-free operation over short distances. The system can also transition later to alternative energy sources such as hydrogen or ammonia.
