Digital Report.
Power system intelligence for your vessel.

A physics-based simulation of your vessel's electrical architecture — from component sizing to fuel performance, before you build, refit, or decide. Delivered as a live application on Miira Cloud.

Designing under uncertainty.

A vessel's power system involves dozens of interdependent decisions: generator sizing, battery capacity, bus topology, dispatch logic, and how all of it performs across a real operational profile. Without simulation, these choices rest on experience and spreadsheets, useful, but unable to capture the dynamic nature of real operations. The Digital Report replaces guesswork with a computational model of your specific vessel, tested against your actual operational profile.

Without simulation
  • ✕ Component sizing based on installed capacity, not simulated demand
  • ✕ Fuel estimates from reference vessels, not your operational profile
  • ✕ Regulatory calculations done manually at the end of a project
  • ✕ Configuration decisions difficult to revisit once equipment is ordered
With the Digital Report
  • ✓ Simulated fuel spend per configuration, per scenario
  • ✓ Power reserve and battery utilisation quantified before build
  • ✓ CII and regulatory outputs from the same model
  • ✓ Compare design alternatives side by side in the application

Built for your vessel, not a template.

A Digital Report model is a physics-based representation of your vessel's entire electrical power system. Each component's behaviour, efficiency characteristics, and interactions are encoded. The model is then run against your operational profile to produce time-resolved results across all scenarios.

Every model starts with a structured kickoff session with your technical team to define and document the complete set of inputs, the basis on which all simulation results rest.

INPUTS Load profiles Component specs Operational modes Bus topology Voyage scenarios Simulation Engine Physics-based OUTPUTS Fuel consumption Engine run hours Power reserve Battery degradation Emissions & CII Input Data & Assumptions (IDA) Document All inputs, assumptions, and engineering decisions documented and agreed with your team. Handed over at project close as a permanent record. Deliverable

KPIs that answer real questions.

Each KPI is derived from the simulation time series — not estimated, but computed from the model of your vessel on your operational profile.

Fuel consumption

Total fuel spend, per nautical mile, per kWh produced. Identifies the operating point that minimises consumption — which isn't always slow steaming.

Fuel & Energy

Engine running hours

Hours on each prime mover across the simulated profile. Reveals imbalances between generators — relevant for maintenance scheduling and warranty planning.

Maintenance

Power reserve

Available power margin across the profile. Identifies periods near capacity limit and quantifies how often the system operates below a safe threshold.

Safety & Sizing

Battery degradation

Damage-weighted Equivalent Full Cycles (D-EFC) quantifies how aggressively the operational profile ages the battery — more informative than cycle count alone.

Battery Health

Emissions & CII

CO₂ equivalent output, tank-to-wake analysis, and Carbon Intensity Indicator rating — computed from simulated fuel consumption, not fleet averages.

Regulatory

OPEX & payback

Fuel cost over the operational profile under different configurations. Supports business case analysis and comparison of hybrid or battery investment scenarios.

Economics

An interactive study environment.

The Digital Report is delivered as a live application on Miira Cloud — not a static PDF. Your technical team can explore the model, interrogate outputs, and compare configurations directly in the browser. No installation required.

Single Line Diagram

Your vessel's electrical architecture rendered interactively. See which components are active in each operational mode and how the system responds to load changes.

Configuration matrix

Toggle components on or off across voyage segments and rerun the simulation. Explore design variants and see the impact immediately — without re-engaging the engineering team.

Simulation runs & KPI explorer

Compare multiple simulation runs side by side. Review time series graphs per component, inspect KPI breakdowns, and share the report with colleagues directly from the application.

Two deliverables, one engagement.

Every Digital Report engagement closes with two deliverables — an interactive application and supporting documentation — handed over together at project close.

Document
Input Data & Assumptions Report

A complete, auditable record of every input, assumption, and engineering decision that went into the model. Agreed with your team from the kickoff session and maintained to final delivery.

  • ✓ Full model basis — components, efficiencies, load profiles
  • ✓ All assumptions documented and justified
  • ✓ Useful for future refits, surveys, and regulatory review
  • ✓ Permanent technical record independent of the software

Digital Report on Miira Cloud

An interactive study environment where your team can explore the model, run configuration scenarios, review KPIs and time series, and share results — live in the browser.

  • ✓ Single Line Diagram with interactive component states
  • ✓ Configuration matrix to test design variants
  • ✓ Full KPI suite across all simulated scenarios
  • ✓ Shareable with your technical team and stakeholders

One model, the full lifecycle.

The engagement follows a defined process — and the model produced stays with your vessel long after delivery. During engineering and construction it can be updated to reflect design changes. Once the vessel enters service, it feeds directly into Miira's operational monitoring.

Engineering, not estimation.

The Digital Report is built on the same engineering knowledge we apply when designing and delivering marine hybrid power systems — not adapted from a general-purpose simulation platform.

Marine hybrid specialists

We design, supply, and commission hybrid marine power systems. The models in the Digital Report reflect the same component knowledge we apply on real vessels, not generic textbook models.

We built the tools

Miira Cloud is our platform. The simulation engine, KPI definitions, and the Digital Report application are all developed in-house. There is no third-party black box, we understand every layer of the analysis.

From analysis to onboard

The Digital Report is the starting point of a longer relationship. The vessel model feeds directly into Miira's operational monitoring, so the analysis you invest in now continues to deliver value once the vessel is in service.

Let's model your vessel.

Tell us about your vessel, your operational profile, and the decisions you need to make. We'll put together a proposal.
